W.E.B. Dubois is widely ecognized as a significant figure: for his pursuit of social justice, for hisliterary imagination, and for his pioneering scholarly research. As we all know, we created the NAACP (National Association for Advancement of colored People) in the late 1800's. He also led the Niagara Movement in 1905 calling for integrated schools, and the promotion of the " Talented 10th" to be the next generation of black civil rights leaders.

The NAACP used lawsuits to fight segregation laws & voting restriction.
